A polycarbonate plate is stretched under high temperature into the shape of the helmet and pressed against the Hi-EPS shell under high pressure and then thermally fused. The ceramic shell offers several features: it is impact and scratch resistant, UV resistant, and antistatic. Hi EPS - The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material contains microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimal protection while also allowing for a very thin helmet wall and a narrow helmet shape.
