The MR-(F)-GW is a compact Modbus RTU / Modbus TCP gateway. It enables bidirectional data exchange between Modbus RTU field devices and a Modbus TCP master (client). The MR-(F)-GW can be used in two operating modes: as a transparent gateway in Modbus RTU over TCP mode or as a protocol converter (Modbus TCP mode). The MR gateway can be connected to METZ CONNECT Modbus RTU devices via two 4-pin connection terminals on the front of the device and a jumper connector. An integrated web server is used for parameterization, management, and monitoring of the two interfaces (Ethernet / RS485). The web interface is also used for firmware updates. The MR gateway is suitable for decentralized installation in control cabinets or cabinets on a TH35 mounting rail according to IEC 60715. It enables simultaneous access by 32 Modbus TCP clients and bidirectional data exchange between Modbus RTU slave devices and a Modbus TCP master (client). The supported protocols are Modbus RTU over TCP (transparent gateway), Modbus TCP/IP v1.0b, and HTTP 1.0. The integrated web server enables intuitive, software-independent configuration via the web interface. Furthermore, a simple search for METZ CONNECT Modbus RTU devices on the RS485 bus and quick connection of METZ CONNECT Modbus RTU devices via proven bridge connector technology are available. It offers 3-way galvanic isolation (RS485-Ethernet-Power) and status monitoring of TCP and RS485 communication.
