TFA 98.1111.02 Ventilated Radiation Shield with Solar Panel for Amateur Sensors TFA, Garni, and Airbi. The TFA 98.1111.02 Radiation Shield is white. The shield is equipped with a solar panel-powered fan located on the top of the instrument. The shield protects the sensor from direct sunlight and rainfall, while ensuring relatively free air exchange around the sensor. Furthermore, the fan forces a constant airflow around the sensor, reducing the formation of pools of heated air inside the shield on windless days. Using the shield provides the best measurement performance, especially on sunny days. The accessory can be screwed to a flat, solid surface, mounted using a peg holder, or secured with cable ties, e.g., to a railing. The shield is relatively large, allowing it to accommodate elongated sensors. This accessory is dedicated to selected sensors from the following companies: TFA, Garni, Airbi. Why is it worth it? Minimizing sensor heating by direct solar radiation - overheating; protecting the sensor against precipitation and wetting - lowering the temperature by evaporation; artificially ventilated measuring cell; fan powered by a solar panel; radiation shield made of plastic; hole in the base for the sensor cable; external dimensions: 138 x 150 x 227 mm; internal dimensions: Ø 80 x 170 mm; can be placed or hung; assembly elements included in the set (screws, cable ties); country of origin: Germany; Technical characteristics: external dimensions: 138 x 150 x 227 mm; internal dimensions: Ø 80 x 170 mm; Set contents: radiation shield; screws + dowels - 4 pcs; cable ties 2 pcs; Did you know that reducing the temperature in your home by 1°C translates into savings in heating costs of approximately 6%? To prevent the external sensor from heating up under direct sunlight, and thus improve the quality of measurements, it is recommended to place it in a radiation shield.
