During driving, the starter battery is charged first. Once it's fully charged, the auxiliary battery charger automatically switches to the auxiliary battery. Both batteries are then charged by the alternator. Both batteries remain connected in parallel until a total voltage of 12.8 V is reached. If the voltage drops below 12.8 V, the auxiliary battery charger disconnects the auxiliary battery. Additional electrical consumers should only be connected to the auxiliary battery. Reliable starting, even after extended periods of inactivity (without charging), is guaranteed. Ideal for use with solar systems. The solar panels and charge controller are simply connected in parallel to the auxiliary battery. The electronics are suitable for all 12 V lead-acid batteries. The charging current of an alternator is approximately 25% of the battery capacity. For example, with a 100 Ah battery, this is 25 A. When using the auxiliary battery charger, this current is then distributed between both batteries. The switching capacity of the electronics is sufficient for 1 4r batteries up to 500 Ah.
