The MPO (multi-fibre push-on) cabling system is an easy-to-use solution based on a high-density connector and flat ribbon fiber optic cables with 12 fibers. This system is widely used in data centers but is also applied, for example, between server rooms. It was designed for reliable and fast handling and offers the advantages of a small footprint and high scalability. The pre-terminated MPO cables can be fanned out to other connector types, usually LC connectors, to connect to standard fiber optic products or services. This is done via modules or so-called fan-out cables.
