This assortment of SMD LEDs, featuring very bright surface-mount LEDs in size 0805, offers a wide range of colors and is well-organized. Since these LEDs are very small (approximately 2.0 x 1.25 x 1.1 mm), individual manual processing can be difficult – mechanical damage or overheating are common occurrences. Therefore, short 30 cm long wires are professionally pre-attached to both the anode and cathode. This combines the advantages of SMD LEDs with those of wired versions. Ideally suited for model railways, model making (aircraft, RC boats and cars), signal lamps and indicators, or any other application where the smallest possible LEDs are required. As with all conventional LED chips, it is important to note that current limiting via a series resistor or a constant current source must be used to operate the high-quality LED within its permissible operating range. The red wire indicates the anode (+) and the black wire the cathode (-). A brief description of the included components is clearly printed on the inside of the lid. The datasheet contains useful information about the product range – but also important technical details about the included components. This is the only way to ensure that, for example, the LEDs can be operated within their specified parameters, because the components are clearly defined.
