Frontline COMBO for Cats is a medication containing fipronil and S-methoprene in pipette form. It is effective against fleas, ticks, and biting lice, and helps prevent infestations in the home. It has been shown that 5% of a flea's life cycle takes place on the animal, while 95% occurs in the home as eggs, larvae, and pupae. The pupae can survive for several months in the home in a dormant state before infesting a host (animal or human). The S-methoprene in Frontline COMBO regulates insect growth. It reduces flea egg-laying, prevents larvae from hatching, and inhibits the formation of pupae. This prevents the contamination of living spaces by flea eggs and larvae deposited by the animal. In cats, the duration of action against fleas is 4 weeks and against ticks is 2 weeks. In ferrets, the duration of action against fleas and ticks is 4 weeks. It can be used on cats weighing 1 kg and 8 weeks of age, as well as on ferrets from 6 months of age. Also available in a 6-pipette pack.
