Frontline TRI ACT for Dogs is a medication containing fipronil and permethrin in pipette form. It is effective against five parasites: fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, sandflies, and biting flies. It has a knockout effect on fleas within 5 minutes. Fleas are killed within 6 hours throughout the entire period of effectiveness, providing preventative action against infestation in the home because fleas are eliminated before they have time to lay eggs (fleas lay eggs in 24-48 hours). The duration of insecticidal efficacy is 1 month for fleas and ticks, 3 weeks against mosquitoes and sandflies, and 5 weeks against biting flies. FRONTLINE TRI ACT has a repellent effect of 4 weeks against mosquitoes, 3 weeks against sandflies, and 5 weeks against biting flies. Ticks carry diseases such as Lyme disease and babesiosis. Sandflies can transmit leishmaniasis. Frontline Tri-Act helps limit the transmission of these diseases by controlling the parasites that carry them. It is only for use in dogs weighing 2 kg and 8 weeks of age. Do not use on cats. It may be recommended during treatment for flea allergy dermatitis.
