Compact and powerful. Reliable charge controller for solar systems up to 4 A. A simple and extremely reliable device for charging lead-acid and lead-gel batteries in smaller solar systems. It charges the battery using the PWM charging method. When the final charging voltage is reached, the charging current is switched off, thus protecting the connected battery from overcharging. With low power consumption, this solar charge controller is extremely economical. Two LEDs indicate whether the battery is full or still charging. The PWM charging method initially charges the battery at maximum current. As soon as the respective final charging voltage is reached, the current flow is stopped, preventing overcharging. After this initial charging step, the battery is usually not yet fully charged. A drop in battery voltage is to be expected. Therefore, the charging current resumes when a defined voltage level is undershot. This process repeats until the battery is fully charged.
