The small included radio antenna of the radio antenna modules and some radio transmitter modules can be replaced with this larger 868 MHz RF antenna for receiving or transmitting radio signals inside or from metal control cabinets. It is mounted externally using a magnetic base, and the 250 cm long cable is routed internally. Optimal performance is achieved when the magnetic base adheres to a metal surface, such as the RF ground FHM175. The transmit and receive range is nearly spherical around this antenna. The antenna is only 10 cm high and features an SMA screw connector. It can be extended by 5 m with the FAV5 radio antenna extension or by 10 m with the FAV10.
