Compared to binoculars with similar magnification, monoculars are typically smaller, lighter, and more practical to use – perfect for nature lovers, birdwatchers, mountaineers, sailors, or hunters – but also for concertgoers or sporting event attendees. With the 8x42 monocular, BRAUN Photo Technik introduces a new binocular offering 8x magnification and enabling rapid object acquisition without image shake. The monocular's optics consist of multi-coated BK-7 glass, delivering a sharp, high-contrast, and color-accurate image. The large 42 mm objective lens gathers a lot of light, which is why the monocular, with a light intensity of 27.6 and a twilight factor of 18.3, performs well even in poor lighting conditions. Thanks to its wide field of view of 131 meters at 1000 meters, the instrument is suitable for quickly acquiring distant objects. However, the minimum focusing distance is only 4 meters.
